- Human waste, biodegradable trash.
and other liquid or solid organic sewer waste
breaks down,
leaving rinse water that is clean enough to
use without any threat to the environment.
- Human waste is degraded into
odorless water and basic gases, so that there
is no objectionable
odor. Even in the restroom, odor is practically
eliminated.
- The destruction of waste removes
a potential breeding ground for flies, helping
to retain a clean environment.
- The system contains all of the
necessary components in one unit, so it is fast
and easy to install.
- All of the water required for
flushing is recycled, so an additional source
of water is not needed.
- The BIO-Redux Chips provide an
almost permanent supply of microorganisms that
will always
be reused. In cases where little or no amount
of human excretion is introduced to the
BIO-Redux
Chips, the microorganisms can disappear; so
a once-a-year check up is necessary.

According
to the load-test conducted over
a ten (10) day period (which
included the fourth of
July weekend), the Bio-Redux¢â
stand-alone restroom facility
currently located at the City
of
Redondo Beach¡¯s Dominguez Dog
Park consumed approximately
6,000 watts (on average)
per day. Between 200 and 250
park patrons used the system
during this ten (10) test period
(this averages between 20 and
25 uses per day). Since the
Bio-Redux¢â system is designed
to accommodate between 250 and
300 people per day, we designed
the solar and wind hybrid
system a little on the high
side. In other words, we are
assuming the Bio-Redux¢â system
will
consume upwards to 24,000 watts
per day... increasing restroom
traffic from about 25 uses per
day to about 100 uses per day.
Thus; assuming restroom traffic
will increase, we designed the
solar and wind hybrid system
so that 55% of the energy is
consumed from the solar array,
and
45% of the energy is consumed
from the wind generator. We
included a back-up generator
as
an option just in case there
is no sun or wind for more than
36 to 48 hours. Instead of installing
an optional back-up generator,
we could add another solar array
for about the same cost. The
back-up batteries will also
power the Bio-Redux¢â system
for up to two days in the event
of no
sun or wind. There are a lot
of variables to consider; however,
if you decide to utilize alternative
energy, you will be the first
to incorporate a complete stand-alone
restroom system - a system
not connected to any outside
utility service. |

This wireless, state-of-the-art
remote control system monitors the alarm conditions
of the Bio-Redux
system¡¯s six (6) pumps. Currently, Red and Green
indicating lights mounted externally alert park
maintenance personnel. If the Red light turns ¡°ON¡±
or the green light turns ¡°OFF¡±, park maintenance
personnel will notify the manufacturer, Unitech,
immediately. On the other hand, the remote control
system will send the appropriate alarm messages
to the manufacturer automatically. |

The restrooms normally
use a waterless hand cleaner for washing hands.
Optional hand-washing
sinks is also available. With
the optional hand-washing sinks, the water from
the storage tanks would be sterilized using
U.V., Ozone, and R/O prior to reuse. The purity
of this water would exceed your own household
sink water.
We would have an automatic safety
shut-off device installed in the event a sterilizing
component
breaks down; thus, shutting off the flow of water
from the storage tanks to the sinks. |
